Oh. Right. There's a reason they're amazing....

Today was a wonderful little day!!

We woke up around 11, and ate some scrambled eggs for breakfast. We proceeded to get dressed and head out to the SF Zoo! Horray! Well, almost....

Being the first time I've had to take the train since we moved, since we've been able to maneuver quite efficiently with the buses - not the train. So, we get our Muni pass, and head over to the Muni/Bart station.....

Except we screw up royally and take the inbound train rather than the outbound. We end up near the baseball stadium rather than the SF Zoo. Whoops - They're on opposite sides of the city. Ha.

So much for the zoo today.... so instead we walk along Market Street and find instead a toy store - something we've been looking for in order to buy some much needed board games.

We walk out with three new games: Balderdash, and two card games - "Adverteasing" and "Movie Trivia Buzz Time." After we go to the toy store, we walk down a side street and come across Mel's Diner - a 1950's style restaurant that is quite similar to The Silver Diner (for all you east coasters...)

Well, the waiter, uhhh...was horrible. And a little disgusting, due to the huge (and we mean HUGE) pimple on his face. I was a little worried about his white head getting too close to the heat and exploding all over our food. I know, gross - but so was this poor dude's face. I wouldn't have normally cared, but he was also probably the worst waiter in the city. I'd be avoiding customers too (which he did) if I had that thing on my face. Hah.

Ok, so on to what we found next - we found this AMAZING frozen yogurt place. Every frozen treat is fat free, and is the consistency of soft-serve ice-cream. You put on your own toppings, and pick from tons of awesome flavors (we highly recommend the "Cable Car Chocolate").

Walking back to the bus, we see a theater that is playing the U2-3D concert on the IMAX screen. We just found our plans for the evening....but we'll return to that in a sec.

Returning home, we watch a movie, cook veggie stir fry and hot + sour soup, and then get ready and head over to Market Street to catch the movie...and let me just tell you - it's AMAZING!!

If you haven't seen it, DO IT, even if you don't get to view it at an IMAX theater. It's so incredible to watch U2 in 3D on the big screen, surround sound, with a bunch of people singing along. Really - it's a cool experience.

Now, we're home, watching some TV and vegging out. Tomorrow is grocery/laundry/cleaning day. Typical Sunday.... no excitement. But we wanted to drop a quick line and catch up and let everyone know things are well out here. We're also finally going down to L.A. for chip's 27th birthday! That will be about 3 blogs worth of storytelling, I'm sure....

Well, it's 2 a.m. and we're tired. Off to bed, will write more when there's news.

(p.s.: the bus rides are hilarious, those crackheads hold the best conversations. ever. oh and then theres the guy that looks like Billy D. Williams as a pimp. Wow.)

XO.
